MEET OUR SCHOLARS
We’d like for you to meet Anj, one of Messy Bessy and H.O.U.S.E.’s thriving success and inspirational learners to date. Originally from the province of Bohol, Anj was the eldest of 6 kids in a family of 8. Already an early achiever, she graduated high school as valedictorian. College was her ideal next step, but she had to put that behind to work in order to support her family. She was able to secure jobs readily available such as contractual ones at the mall, but she ultimately dreamt of having a job in an office setting. However, with the lack of opportunities present and the preconceived notion of not being able to do so without a college degree, this was a far off cry she thought.
Eventually she had to take over her father’s position at a factory once he retired. Unfortunately this ended as well when the factory had to close due to financial setbacks.
The opportunity that she so desired came true at 25, when she joined Messy Bessy. She was able to finally secure an office job while pursuing her college studies at the same time thanks to the program. Three years later, persevering at 29, she would be the first ever to graduate and summa cum laude at that.
Continuing her milestones with Messy Bessy, it also became her first full-time job right after graduating. Since then she has made strides within the company by trying different departments, holding many lead positions, currently as the B2B and Growth Partnerships lead, and is also a member of the Board for H.O.U.S.E. Anj’s admirable resilience, passion and drive is a great source of inspiration for current learners and employees today and for the future.
